Our class did inquiry in groups on the following questions:
• What is Matariki?
• How do we celebrate Matariki?
• How can we share our Matariki celebrations with the community?
Each group took the following steps:
1. A brainstorm using inspiration on IPADS
2. The class we read and investigated? What is Matariki
3. We worked through each question as a whole class
4. We took lots of photos and placed them on display
5. Then students completed an individual assessment of the Inquiry experience for them
Student reflection: Kamiells voice –
Wednesday 2 July:
We had Nan and Papa day… The school welcomed them and sang some waiata… Then they came to our classrooms to present our “Duffy Books”… They then had a hangi for lunch
Kamiell thoughts:
It was nice to have visitors at school. The hangi was yummy I had some…
